Sometimes the best way to understand a design language is to build something that shouldn't exist in public. This collection of five microsites was never meant to be a client deliverable — pure personal synthesis.
Each site lives in a different 'security tier' of visual language:
- Level 0: Clean clinical white-on-black with almost no ornament
- Level 1: Subtle scan-line and phosphor glow effects
- Level 2: Full molecular background generators and reactive particle fields
- Level 3: Simulated terminal interfaces with procedural log streams
- Level 4: Abstract data-viz driven by real (local) sensor noise
Technical stack stayed deliberately simple: plain HTML/CSS/JS, WebGL only where necessary, no frameworks. The constraint forced cleaner solutions and more interesting visual trade-offs.
Several of the interaction patterns later migrated into client work — proof that pure experimentation eventually pays rent.
